We work in the private, public and social sectors. 100% of our work has a visual output. 50% of our projects are with international clients. Every fourth client is in the social sector and two thirds of our engagements involve delivering training to equip clients to do it themselves.

Here is a handful of examples of services we have delivered to clients.
Creating ClarityDe Beers identified a need to build HR capability in the organisation. Over a period of three months Bigger Picture helped create clarity around the overall HR story. Today these visuals remain the main entry point to the De Beers People Portal.
Clear CommunicationDanfoss Ventures needed to have an efficient way of communicating their ventures concept to potential entrepreneurs. Bigger Picture facilitated a process where they got it all into a big picture. We designed it visually and delivered 1000 posters.
Visual Process DesignWe supported the Danish Institute for Human Rights in designing a learning process and a set of four visual dialogue tools. In preparation for a one year project around diversity in the workforce, this set of templates has enabled a small team to conduct constructive meetings with 16 clients. Each of these companies today uses the tools to map their level of diversity.
Graphic FacilitationWhen ABN AMRO in 2006 participated in the Volvo Ocean Race, Bigger Picture designed and graphically facilitated a 2 day team start-up seminar for the more than 50 members of the Team ABN AMRO crew.
Do it your selfIn Novozymes a global team of facilitators, design, convene and host workshops about how various business units are putting the Novozymes Fundamentals into practice. Bigger Picture supports the global team with new skills, tools and approaches to learning. This creates a different, efficient and engaging format for future workshops.
Creating ClarityWhen Shell Scenarios and Shell Learning teams initiated a series of Scenarios Workshops, Bigger Picture was asked to create a visual tool to support the workshop effectiveness. We delivered a visual process overview which in a simple form was able to communicate the workshop purpose, objectives and processes. Each participant used this tool to navigate through the workshop. The tool has been also used as an Agenda in a series of workshops that aim to communicate Shell Scenarios across businesses and different leaders levels.

'The difference that the visual dialogue tools have made has been very impressive. We have experienced how they created a structured and creative learning environment and even busy CEOs reacted with great curiosity on the visual dialogue tools. The interaction at the 1 Day Workshops also to a great extent has been due to the visuals, that emphasizes and expresses the essence of why we are there, namely to learn from each others diversity experiences'.

'Bigger Picture was very flexible in their delivery - even when we were close to the deadline. They very quickly got an understanding of our concept and were fast at delivering solutions to how it could be visualised in a meaningful way. We now have a very good tool which we can use to tell our story and pass it on. Today we use the visuals in many different situations'.

'This two day workshop has been very valuable. In the beginning there was scepticism in the group about what this visualisation was about. Now the team sees a clear purpose and function - and wants more. The process facilitation and the content provided was excellent and exceeded our expectations. The facilitator was very well prepared. It did not come across as shelf material - but specifically made to our situation and needs'.

'I truly enjoyed my two days. It was inspiring and refreshing. Ole is a very skilled facilitator. During the two days training and facilitation Ole kept the 35 participants at a very high level of engagement and the results produced were amazing considering the short amount of time spent. We can learn from this type of facilitation where the use of visual tools and techniques support the team process'.

'Bigger Picture has made a significant contribution to Kraft Joint Value Creation. Earlier we used the visuals as background and add-on support. Today the Bigger Picture approach is integrated as core element which we cannot do without. We now use the visual design to be able to show both process and content and at the same time let participants contribute and use the visuals as tools during the process. This really makes a difference. We especially hear it after a workshop, where everyone remembers and refers to the visuals. They hang on walls, are picked up again and again and used to tell the story'.

'Using the visual approach really helped our team depict a shared story for the overall People Story of De Beers and of each of the 9 HR Processes. We had many different approaches throughout the De Beers Group of companies and we needed to find a common platform to assist in facilitating a general understanding of HR processes. Today we use the 9 stories as the focus point to any discussion relating to HR practices globally.'

A Big Picture Mindset
As a consulting company we play a part in smaller and larger projects helping individuals and organisations become better at what they do.
We aim to bring in a bigger picture mindset - a systemic view - into our way of engaging with clients.
Following purpose guides our work:
We will, in an on-going process, develop commitment, understanding, and a network of relationships to create or transform systems, such that they serve life, and operate in life-affirming ways.
We believe that our collective future depends upon being authentic and acting authentically.
We actively support reaching the 10 UN Global Compact 2015 Millennium Goals (10 guiding principles for dealing with human rights, labour standards, environment and anti-corruption).
We also support the Earth Charter (a declaration of fundamental principles for building a just, sustainable, and peaceful global society for the 21st century).
Our Principles of Sustainable Practice
- We will measure and offset the total CO2 footprint we are causing through our way of transportation and overall energy use. We will invest our CO2 offset into renewable energy.
- We will - to the highest degree possible - buy products, materials, produce, etc, which are organically and locally made and which have a sustainable lifecycle.
- We will - to the highest degree possible - recycle all that we use, and aim to create zero waste.
- We will - to the highest degree possible - hire service providers/ sub contractors who have a sustainable, ecological and / or environmental profile.
- We will plan and organise around local resources and people and hereby find a way to contribute to the local community, whenever possible.
- We will - where relevant and meaningful - enable the project to support one or more of the UN millennium goals and / or the Earth Charter.
- We will set aside time and resources to educate and inspire participants involved in the work.

The Part We Play
|
|
Bigger Picture has over the last three years used five per cent of our revenue to sponsor projects and people pioneering change:
We also participate in the Pioneers of Change project 'Building Capacity for Climate Change', a global effort leading up to the 2009 Climate Conference in Copenhagen.
We have since 2006 been tracing our CO2 footprint. Until other opportunities arise we offset our CO2 footprint through FEE International. Our offset is invested in wind energy.
2006/2007:We flew 40.000 flight miles and drove 20.000 km. This equalled approximately 24 tonnes of C02. Our offset: 220 €
2007/2008:We have so far flown 26.000 flight miles and driven 12.000 km = 11 tonnes of CO2. Our offset so far: 120 €
Ole is on the Pedagogical Council of the Kaospilots.
If you want to learn about these projects we are happy to tell more about them.
