The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist
Documentary viewing, dinner, and facilitated dialogue.
The AI Doc opened in US cinemas in March and launches on Netflix in September.
The purpose of this session is to give viewers a shared entry point into one of the most consequential, and often fragmented, conversations of our time. Our aim is to provide a space and tools for the kind of dialogue that shifts how people think, and moves them to act.
This is an invitation to anyone who feels inspired or unsettled by the AI wave, and who wants clarity and agency going forward. The film is a good way in. It is also a chance to meet people asking the same question: what does an AI-enabled future mean in a Scandinavian context?
We host this together with our friends at MS ActionAid, at their facilities. We will be running a design dialogue based on a discussion guide from the Center for Humane Technology (CHT), whose co-founders Tristan Harris and Aza Raskin appear in the film.
In the session we will share a visualization of CHTs pro-human AI Roadmap.

How this connects to our wider work
This session builds on work we have been doing through the year: a visit to San Francisco in June, meeting the people building AI, and taking part in the AI for Good Summit in Geneva, coordinated by the UN.
We are currently developing a pro-social AI roadmap in collaboration with Sunway University. The pilot is set to run at the Global Tipping Points Conference October 12th to 15th.
For us this is not a one-off event. It is an effort to stir the conversation with everyone who has an interest. We are not sure where it leads. We hope to learn a lot, fast, along the way.
